carnival inspired work
My focus is on creating movement through color and repetition, drawing inspiration from carnival rides. Using black and white shapes, I developed multiple small pieces of the same form that connect to create a larger composition. The repetition of shapes conveys the excitement, energy, and dynamic flow of a carnival, where people dance, ride, and celebrate in vibrant surroundings.
To emphasize amusement rides, I designed works that explore movement, balance, and unity, inspired by rollercoasters and my personal experiences at amusement parks. I also looked to artists like Christo and Romuald Hazoume, who engage with space and negative space to create impactful forms—an approach I applied to achieve width, height, and depth in my work.
Each piece expresses different movements and perspectives, using varied angles, colors, and shapes to evoke the energy of a carnival. Through this exploration, I aim for viewers to feel the excitement and vibrancy of the carnival environment through my work.
